Following his very public split from Jennifer Lopez, Alex Rodriguez has upped his fitness game in a bid to leave his "dad bod" behind.
The father-of-two, who used to play baseball professionally, let go of his athletic lifestyle four years ago before retiring and becoming a businessman and a philanthropist instead.
However, it seems that Alex, 45, has been embracing his old sporty habits following his split from the 51-year-old R&B legend.
J-Lo's ex-fiancé recently showed off the results of his hard work.
Sharing side by side snaps of himself in December 2020 and April 2021, he penned: "Left the Dad-bod in 2020.
"Anyone else determined to stick with their fitness goals this year? I’ve been consistent with my workouts and finally put down the chips.
"What food is your weakness?”
After a four-year relationship and a two-year engagement, the A-list couple officially confirmed their break-up on the Today Show on April 15 after weeks of speculation.
Jennifer and Alex released a joint statement, reading: "We have realized we are better as friends and look forward to remaining so.
"We will continue to work together and support each other on our shared businesses and projects.
"We wish the best for each other and one another’s children.
"Out of respect for them, the only other comment we have to say is thank you to everyone who has sent kind words and support.”
Speculations regarding a potential break-up between the celeb pair were ongoing for at least a month prior to their official announcement.
Fans had noticed that the former professional baseball shortstop and third baseman was missing from the legendary singer and actress’ social media for a little while.
Rumours about their split increased as she posted a series of photos on her Instagram where she was seen not wearing her engagement ring.
Despite their engagement being officially off, and their relationship over, Alex has reportedly voiced his wish to possibly win Jennifer back.
A source told Us Weekly that “A-Rod will not give up on his and J-Lo’s relationship,” and that he was “willing to do anything to make it work.”
