Jennifer Lopez's Golden Globes 'Christmas present' dress sparks flurry of Twitter memes

Jennifer Lopez isn’t letting go of the holiday season just yet. The actress and singer walked the red carpet at the 2020 Golden Globes in a mix of white, green and gold, which was reminiscent of the Christmas presents everyone recently received.

The dress in question was a Valentino design featuring a strapless bodice with an oversized green and gold bow at the front.

Lopez, who was nominated for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for her film Hustlers, accessorized the gown with plenty of Harry Winston diamonds and emeralds - because every present could use a little extra sparkle.

Naturally, it didn’t take long for Twitter to roll out the memes, with most agreeing that JLo’s dress was better suited for under the Christmas tree.

One user hilariously compared Lopez's look to frantically trying to get all of your gift wrapping done at the last minute.

Perhaps JLo was just going the sustainable route by reusing some of her gift wrapping, as this user suggested?

One Twitter user thought the dress looked more like Ryan Reynolds’ ugly Christmas sweater, inspiring a series of "Who wore it better?" tweets.

Of course, there were a few dedicated fans who thought Lopez looked as flawless as ever - she was in Valentino Couture, after all.

And others may not have loved the dress, but were willing to give credit where it was due, acknowledging that only Lopez could attempt to pull off such a look.

No matter where you stand in the dress debate, there's no denying Lopez knows how to make a statement on the red carpet.
