Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck’s wedding officiant revealed as couple prepare for second ceremony

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have reportedly asked podcast host Jay Shetty to officiate a second wedding ceremony expected to take place this weekend.

It is understood that the happy couple, who eloped last month in Las Vegas, have called upon the former Hindu monk to officiate celebrations spanning three days over the weekend.

Lopez, 53, and Affleck, 50, have reportedly asked friends and family to join them for an ‘intimate celebration’ that will include dinner, a ceremony, and a BBQ.

Shetty, who officiated the wedding of Lily Collins and Charlie McDowell last year, is said to be close friends with Lopez and has worked with the actor before.

Lopez had previously asked Shetty to officiate four weddings that Lopez was helping to organize as part of a PR stunt to promote her film, Marry Me.

Shetty wrote on social media at the time: “When Jennifer Lopez asks you to officiate 4 weddings and speak on the power of love during her ‘Marry Me’ Special Performance you say yes.

He added: “What an incredible experience it was seeing 4 beautiful couples take their vows and having Jennifer Lopez and Maluma as their wedding singers!

“Their stories and journeys brought tears to everyone’s eyes and I’m so grateful I got to be a part of it.”

According to Page Six, the newlyweds will be joined by several A-List friends for this weekend’s celebrations, including Matt Damon, Jimmy Kimmel, Casey Affleck and Drea de Matteo.

The celebration comes just over a month after the couple - who rekindled their relationship in 2021 - revealed that they’d tied the knot at the White Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas.

Lopez confirmed the announcement in a newsletter to her fans, in which she wrote: “With the best witnesses you could ever imagine, a dress from an old movie and a jacket from Ben’s closet, we read our own vows in the little chapel and gave one another the rings we’ll wear for the rest of our lives.”

The actor also signed off her newsletter with her husband’s last name, revealing that she’d chosen to become Jennifer Lynn Affleck.
