Jennifer Garner has said that she is embracing natural beauty and wants to "normalise looking normal".
The 13 Going On 30 actress, 49, aims to wear less make up to set an example for her children Violet, 15, Seraphina, 12, and Samuel, 9.
Jennifer told Shop TODAY: "We can almost all wear less [makeup] than we think because, to me, I don’t want my kids or people to only see the actor version of me that is perfectly made up by brilliant artists and think that’s how I look."
She added: "I want to look normal and I want to normalise looking normal. I always have felt really strongly about that. And then if I’m dressed up, I like that my kids are like, ‘Woo, look at my mom!’”
The star shares her three children with her ex husband Ben Affleck, 49, who is now in a relationship with Jennifer Lopez, 52.
The pair dated in the early 2000s and in May they were seen rekindling their former love.
Garner added that she tries to avoid looking at photos of herself that she deems unflattering because she "knows she looks better in real life".
“When you start getting super critical of yourself, turn around, pivot in that spot and go do something nice for someone else. Or go work out, or just take that and make it active instead of letting it just fester in you,” the mum-of-three said.
Jennifer previously spoke openly about how tough parenting had been during the pandemic, adding that it was especially hard for mums.
The Texas-born actress was recently seen in an animated conversation with her former spouse in California.
The Hollywood pair have remained amicable as they co-parent their kids after they announced their split in June 2015.
They both wrapped up in coats as they walked through a park and looked over some papers together.
Jennifer called their relationship a "work in progress" but said that they are committed to doing the best for the kids.
A source told US Weekly: "They stay on top of things and have a lot of meetings and check-ins. They want to be the best parents they can for the kids.
"If they have differences, they keep it to themselves and don’t let it have an impact. They always put on happy faces for the kids and put their well-being first.”
The pair split after it was revealed that Ben was having an affair with the family's nanny Christine Ouzounian.
But Jennifer made it clear that it wasn't the nanny's fault. "Let me just tell you something. We had been separated for months before I ever heard about the nanny," Jennifer told Vanity Fair in 2016.
Ben dated Bond girl Ana De Armas after they met in 2019 while filming thriller Deep Water, directed by Adrian Lyne.
