Jennifer Arcuri claims Boris Johnson hung up on her in recent phonecall as she speaks of 'heartbreak'

Businesswoman Jennifer Arcuri has said Boris Johnson hung up on her when she recently called him to discuss the scandal over their relationship during his stint as Mayor of London.

Ms Arcuri, who allegedly received favourable treatment from the Prime Minister in his former role, said she called him on Sunday, November 10, and he put the phone down on her.

Asked about the last time she tried to call him, she told Good Morning Britain: "'He said, 'Yes, hello,' and hung up, when I said, 'Why did you block me?'

"And I just thought, what a slap in the face."

Ms Arcuri said his phone was "taken" by a man "pretending to speak in a Chinese accent" when she called.

She also spoke of her "heartbreak" at the situation stating her "integrity" had been "destroyed" by the furore.

Ms Arcuri also refused to comment on the extent of her relationship with the PM, when asked directly if they had had an affair.

Speaking on Good Morning Britain she said: "I'm not going to answer that question, but as you can tell there was a very special relationship there and when it did come out, half the people already assumed the affair and told me to admit.

"The other half just wanted me to deny, deny, deny."

She said her actions, by speaking out in recent days, were "calling him [Boris Johnson] out for looking the other way".

It comes after she claimed in an interview over the weekend that the PM cast her aside as though she was a “gremlin” and that she came under pressure to “admit the affair”.

In an interview with ITV Exposure said she wished the Prime Minister had declared their personal relationship as a potential conflict of interest to avoid her "humiliation".

She added that he “cast her aside” after she tried to contact him for advice on how to handle the media interest.
