Jennifer Aniston sends Co Down restaurant viral after sharing their Baby Yoda cocktail creation

A Co Down restaurant's innovative cocktail has taken the internet by storm with even Jennifer Aniston sharing her appreciation for it on social media.

The Vault in Banbridge have regularly showcased their creations on Facebook but their latest Baby Yoda cocktail went viral with websites across the world sharing the Star Wars themed drink.

Michael Young, co-owner of the restaurant and the man behind the drink said he couldn't believe how well it was received on social media.

He told Belfast Live: "We always try and do interesting things with our cocktails to try and promote them and there's so much competition so we try and do something different so we try and tie in with things that are topical. One of the most recent ones we did was a Blue Planet cocktail based on David Attenborough's show so with the return of The Mandalorian we thought we'd do this one.

"We wanted to do something fun and keep things light-hearted in the current climate and even for the staff it's nice to have the light moments to focus on."

The green cocktail made from Grey Goose Vodka, muddled kiwi fruit, fresh lime, demerara syrup and bitters was so well received on social media with the image circulating right across the web, even making its way onto Hollywood actor Jennifer Aniston's radar.

The Friends star posted the image on her Instagram stories, captioning it: "May the force be with us."

"An Ibiza publication shared it and a French magazine picked it up as well and it just took off from there, and then seeing Jennifer Aniston sharing it was really surprising and quite flattering, it was great, added Michael.

With the current restrictions in place the 34-year-old said he is doing all he can to keep positive and share some joy on social media.

"It's been a funny year it has been up and down, there's been times where things were going well especially on the back of the eat out scheme that was a real lift for hospitality but on the flip of that there was an increase in rates and they felt the need to close it all back down again.

"I think it's just about trying to stay positive and doing things like this just makes it a bit easier, these wee light-hearted moments are a bit of fun and a bit of light at the end of the tunnel for people."
