Jennifer Aniston's husband Justin Theroux addresses coverage of Brangelina split

After the news emerged Angelina Jolie was filling for divorce from Brad Pitt and Brangelina was no longer last week, the spotlight moved towards Jennifer Aniston

Despite the fact, it had been over a decade since the couple divorced, tabloids, gossip columns and social media aficionados could not get enough of dragging Aniston back into the furore and hypothetically speculating about the Friends actress' reaction. Rising above the frivolous, inane and baseless gossip, Aniston has chosen to stay quiet.

Nevertheless, her husband, Justin Theroux has spoken out and argued it is absurd how much attention the divorce has garnered, suggesting that there are far more important things going on in the world to be focusing on.

The actor and screenwriter, who has appeared in Mullholland Drive and written the screenplay for Zoolander 2, also lamented on the sad impact of the divorce on the children.

“As a child of divorce all I can say is that’s terrible news for those children and that's all you can really say,” Theroux told Business Insider.

“It’s boring to sort of comment on anything else."

“There’s [the public has] an endless appetite for trash, apparently, though everyone would say that they don’t have that appetite,” Theroux continued. “But I think a lot of people do because people buy it. But there are bigger things to bitch about. It’s shocking how much bandwidth things can take up when there are far more important things going on in the world.”

Jolie's lawyer announced the actress had filed for divorce from Pitt on Tuesday. The pair officially got together in 2006 after appearing on Mr and Mrs Smith together and then married at Chateau Miraval in the French village of Correns in 2014.

Jolie requested physical custody and joint legal custody of their six children and asked for Pitt to be granted visitation rights. The pair has six children together.

Representatives of both Pitt and Jolie have been contacted for comment.
