Jennifer Aniston's ex Adam Duritz has admitted that he had no idea who she was when they met.
The Counting Crows singer, 56, had a brief romance with Jennifer, 52, in the nineties when she had just begun starring in Friends.
He has now revealed how they met at infamous Hollywood nightclub The Viper Room, where their friends set them up.
Duritz said he "lived at The Viper Room, night in and night out" in the nineties and his friends told him Jennifer had a crush on him, while her friends told her he fancied her.
The musician said: "I met Jennifer Aniston there.
"A bunch of my friends lied to me and told me she had a crush on me.
"Those same friends lied to her and told her I had a crush on her.
"I honestly had no idea who she was, I had been on the road during all of Friends. I had never seen it, I don't think."
Adam told Entertainment Tonight that Jennifer was "really nice, really funny, really pretty," before adding, "And also, she liked me."
The Accidentally in Love singer, who dated Jennifer in 1995, admitted that the romance didn't last long.
Adam previously said that they "never even slept together".
And Jennifer wasn't even the only Friends star he dated, as he later had a fling with her best friend, Courteney Cox.
He told Men's Health in 2014 that the attention the relationships brought him wasn't good for his image.
Adam admitted: "It wasn't great for me, it wasn't great for my band. But it's nothing I did. I'm not gonna link people's idiocy to my choices, because those were perfectly reasonable choices.
"They were nice girls and I went out with them and that was that."
After the relationship ended, Jennifer went on to date actor Tate Donovan, who she was with from 1995 until 1998.
She met Brad Pitt later that same year, and the duo married in 2000 after two years of dating.
They split up in 2005 amid speculation about the nature of Pitt's relationship with Angelina Jolie, who he later married and then divorced.
Jennifer then went on to have an on and off relationship with singer John Mayer.
In 2011 she began a relationship with Justin Theroux, and they got engaged in 2012 and married in 2015.
The former couple split up in 2017 after just two years of marriage.
