Jennifer Aniston's 'baby bombshell' at Friends reunion 'never happened', say reps

Friends fans were in a frenzy on Tuesday with reports claiming that Jennifer Aniston had dropped a "baby bombshell" to cast members during filming for the Friends reunion.

The actress, who rose to fame in her role as Rachel Green in the iconic US sitcom, reportedly announced her plans to adopt while filming in Las Angeles.

Closer revealed that the Friends cast's emotional reunion had prompted Jen to drop the news.

However, it appears as though the rumours were actually wide of the mark.

TMZ reports that a representative for the star has denied such claims, saying the news was "false and never happened".

The now thought-to-be-false reports broke that Jennifer, 52, had made the decision to adopt a baby girl from a Mexican orphanage, Casa Hogar Sion after her continued work with the orphanage throughout the career.

Jennifer Aniston was reportedly set to adopt a child, but the news has been rebuffed by her reps (Getty Images,)

A source had originally told Closer: "Jen felt the reunion was the perfect time to make her baby announcement to the whole gang.

"While the girls already knew – as they see each other regularly – she thought it would be special to tell the boys when they were all together, as she rarely sees them these days due to their busy lives and work commitments."

But new reports seem to suggest this is not the case. The Mirror has contacted Jen's reps for comment.

While there may not be a new arrival in the Aniston household, fans of the hit TV show will be pleased to know that the stars have finished filming.

Courteney Cox, Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer spent three days together last week as they finally created the special episode.

Special sets, including the famous water fountain and character Monica's home, have been resurrected for the episode.

While Matthew - who plays Chandler Bing - teased fans by uploading and quickly deleting a snap to social media of him in his dressing room, David, who plays Ross Geller, revealed a little bit more in a recent interview with Graham Norton.

When asked if he'll return in character, he said: "I’ll be David. Nothing is scripted and we are not in character."
