Jennifer Aniston reveals she had a fake Instagram account

When Jennifer Aniston joined Instagram, she basically broke the Internet. She beat out the Royal Family - Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, specifically - when she received more than one million followers faster than anyone else on the platform.

Aniston spoke to Jimmy Kimmel about her and wildly popular Instagram account, telling him she's the "most reluctant person to ever join Instagram." She went on to reveal that while she spoke out about the dangers of social media in the past, she's secretly been on Instagram all along.

She previously told InStyle, “They’re doing it through someone else’s lens, which has been filtered and changed… and then it’s ‘like me, don’t like me, did I get liked?’ There’s all this comparing and despairing.”

Like many teens who have a "Finsta," or fake Instagram account, Aniston has revealed she had a private account that she used for the sole purpose of spying on people.

Kimmel asks her, "You had a fake Instagram, account, though, didn't you?" she responds, "Well, it was a stalker account, yes."

"When I was thinking about doing this, I sort of figured it was time to kind of understand the world and dip my toe into this sort of social media pool," she said.

When Kimmel told her "the young people, the kids, would call it a Finsta account, which is short for fake Instagram," she responds, "They can't even say fake anymore!"

Aniston is gearing up to star in The Morning Show - and it's more than likely her follower count will only rise when the show premieres this fall.
