Jennifer Aniston quizzed ex Justin Theroux on why he didn't follow her on Instagram

Jennifer Aniston sent a text message to her former husband Justin Theroux demanding to know why he was not following her on Instagram .

The 50-year-old, who is best known for her role of Rachel Green in American sitcom Friends, made her Instagram debut last week and quickly racked up millions of followers after uploading a reunion snap of her and her castmates.

Despite having heaps of followers, the age-defying star noticed her former flame Justin - who she has remained pals with since ending their marriage two years ago - was not subscribing to her feed and Justin has dished on her calling him out.

The American Psycho star, 48, told ET Online : "She actually texted me. She said, 'You haven't followed me,' and I said, 'Of course I followed you!' and she's like, 'No you haven't.'

"I realised I was one of the people caught in the glitch. So, I had followed, commented...[She] like, literally broke Instagram. People were having trouble being recognised as following."

The happy snap showed Jennifer smiling alongside her Friends co-stars David Schwimmer, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc and Matthew Perry.

Jennifer and Justin ended their marriage in 2017 after tying the knot in 2015 at their Bel Air home after three years of engagement.

In a joint statement, the couple said shared the sad news of the end of their marriage.

They penned: "We have decided to announce our separation.

"This decision was mutual and lovingly made at the end of last year."

They added that they would have handled their separation privately, but they wanted to counter speculation and "convey the truth directly".
