Jennifer Aniston gives Friends fans hope as she says a reunion 'could happen'

Jennifer Aniston says a Friends reunion 'could happen' and to simply put it - [said in Janice's voice] OH MY GOD!

It is almost 25 years since the American sitcom first hit TV screens and 15 long years since the last ever episode aired.

But now Aniston, who played Rachel Green in the classic series, has refueled more hopes of a potential reunion.

Speaking on The Ellen DeGeneres Show across the pond, the 50-year-old actress said "everything could happen" when quizzed by the popular talk show host.

Aniston, who starred in the show alongside Courtney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc and Matthew Perry, said:

"Why not? You know what, because, listen, I told you this.

Friends aired for 10 series from 2004 to 1994 (NBC Universal, Inc.)

"I would do it... The girls would do it. And the boys would do it, I'm sure. Listen. Anything could happen."

However, this seems to be against what her fellow castmates have previously said.

Earlier this year, LeBlanc who played the originator of 'How You Doin'', Joey Tribbiani, said that he wasn't keen on a comeback as it woudn't be the same.

He told the Hollywood Reporter : "Nobody wants to see Joey at his colonoscopy.

"That show was about a finite period in your life, after school and before your life really gets started. And if you think about the end of Friends, now their lives are starting – Ross and Rachel go off, Monica and Chandler move to the suburbs with the babies, Phoebe and Mike are married, Joey goes off.

"It was that time prior to that where they were each other's emotional support system – that's what that show was about. After that? It's a different show."

This was also echoed by Kudrow, aka Smelly Cat songstress Pheobe Buffay, who dismissed the idea of a reboot as "sad" and Ross Gellar star Schwimmer claimed they were 'too old' to play their well-known characters.

But if Jennifer has said it, we can still have hope. Right?

In other Friends news, Manchester's Primark store is getting its own Central Perk-themed cafe . So even if the reunion doesn't take place, we can drown ourselves in a coffee cup pretending we are in New York City.
