Jennifer Aniston fans condemn ‘disgusting’ resurfaced David Letterman interview

Late-night TV host David Letterman has come under fire after a number of his past interviews with female guests resurfaced.

In the wake of the Framing Britney Spears documentary, which includes analysis of treatment of her by the media during the height of her fame, the treatment of other female celebrities has become a major talking point.

Among them is a 2013 interview with Lindsay Lohan after her time in rehab, where Letterman hounded her with questions about addiction and mental health struggles, ultimately reducing her to tears.

Fans have also resurfaced a 1998 interview with Friends star Jennifer Aniston, in which he suddenly takes a strand of her hair and sucks on it.

Aniston had appeared on the show to promote her film Object of My Desire.

However, after she spoke about a recent incident where fans recognised her in a steam room at her gym, Letterman is seen holding his hand by Aniston’s neck as he moves his face towards her with his tongue out, saying, “Let me just try something.”

A visibly uncomfortable Aniston asks, “What are you doing?”, then sits as Letterman takes a strand of her hair and sucks on it like spaghetti.

After returning to his seat, he offers her a tissue to wipe the saliva from her hair, telling her: “I’m sorry… something to do with the steam room.”

“Holy s***. @letterman was a monster,” one fan wrote, while another called the moment “disgusting”.

Other past Letterman interviews doing the rounds on social media include one with Paris Hilton in 2007, in which he repeatedly grilled her about her time in jail, despite her saying she didn’t want to talk about it.

The Independent has contacted Aniston and Letterman’s representatives for comment.

Framing Britney Spears is now available to watch in the UK on NowTV.
