Jennifer Aniston breaks down in tears as she says emotional goodbye to Ellen Show

Jennifer Aniston could not hold back the tears as she helped Ellen DeGeneres launch the farewell season of her iconic daytime chat show.

The Friends actress became very emotional as she appeared as a special guest on the US show.

Ellen announced in May this season would be her final one after a successful 18 year run.

The news came after complaints were made about a 'toxic' work environment on the show, which led to an internal probe by Warner Bros.

A teaser clip for the final run, sees Jennifer fighting back the tears as she thanked Ellen for letting her be a part of the show 'since literally day one.'

And even before she’d sat down, actress Jennifer was crying as the occasion caught up with her.

Welcoming Jennifer to the stage, Ellen told her audience: "Our first guest has been part of our show since literally day one – and I’m so happy she’s here to help kick-off our farewell season, please welcome our friend Jennifer Aniston.

And as the studio audience erupted into cheers as the Rachel Green actress headed to the couch, already tearing up as she waved to her fans.

“What the hell? This is not supposed to be emotional. God dang it,” Jennifer joked. “Not yet!’

“Not yet,” replied Ellen.

“Not yet, it’s not even over,” said Jennifer.

“It’s not even started,” joked host Ellen.

“I haven’t been out in a long time guys,” joked Jennifer, as she addressed the audience. “Maybe two years?

“I’m almost not kidding, the last time I was on a sound stage, doing a talk show, was here, hosting your show.”
“I know,” admitted Ellen.

And the pair started laughing together before continuing the show.

The Ellen Show begins airing next week and fans were treated to a sneak-peak of what’s in-store in the final chapter of a show which is now in it’s 19 th season.

And perhaps by fate it was Jennifer, who appeared in the first-ever episode of the show, who was the first guest on the final instalment.

Jennifer, 52, is one of a string of high-profile guests who will appear in the final season.

Popular presenter Jimmy Kimmel, actress Tiffany Haddish, reality queen Kim Kardashian West and social media stars Charli and Dixie D’Amelio will also be appearing in what promises to be fun climax after nearly two decades of filming.

However, the show is closing in the wake of an alleged “toxic” work-culture revealed last July.

BuzzFeed News spoke to 36 annoymous ex-staffers from the show who expressed stories of alleged improper conduct.

And three producers left the show amid allegations of “sexual midsconduct and racially insensitive remarks”.

Following that report, Warner Bros. said parent company WarnerMedia launched an investigation that revealed “some flaws in the show’s daily management.”

The studio also said it was “disappointed that the primary findings of the investigation indicated some deficiencies related to the show’s day-to-day management.”
