Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer 'getting close' after admitting feelings for each other

Friends stars Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer could be about to become an item in real life, according to reports.

The actors are famous for playing on-off lovers Rachel Green and Ross Geller - and finally admitted recently that they had a crush on each other while starring in the much-loved 90s sitcom.

When the Friends cast reunited earlier this year, the pair admitted that the timing was never right to pursue anything off-screen.

But the Mirror reports that the spark could still be there, according to a source.

Reports suggest Jennifer, 52, and David, 54, have grown close again in recent months and insiders claim the pair have been spending time together at Jennifer's LA home.

A source told Closer magazine: "After the reunion, it became clear that reminiscing over the past had stirred up feelings for both of them and that chemistry they’d always had to bury was still there.

"They began texting immediately after filming and, just last month, David flew from his home in New York to see Jen in LA."

The source continued: "They’ve been spending time at Jen’s home, where she’s cooked dinners in the evenings, and have enjoyed quality time together, chatting and laughing.

"They were also spotted drinking wine, deep in conversation, as they walked around one of Jen’s favourite vineyards in Santa Barbara, where it was clear there was lots of chemistry between them.”

Speaking on the HBO reunion show in May, hosted by James Corden, David confessed he "had a major crush on Jen”, to which she replied: "It was reciprocated”.

David continued: "We were both crushing hard on each other, but it was like two ships passing. One of us was always in a relationship and we never crossed that boundary."

It appears maybe good things do come to those who wait.

Friends ran for 10 series between 1994 and 2004.

The reunion special became Sky One’s most-watched show when it was aired on May 27 this year.

Some 5.3 million viewers tuned in to watch David and Jennifer appear alongside co-stars Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc and Matthew Perry.

The 104-minute special featured the cast reminiscing about their time on the show as well as cameos from A-list fans including Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga.
