Jenni Falconer shares painful effect of Raynaud's Disease with blood-deprived fingers

Jenni Falconer is fit and healthy and a fan of running but she has to deal with the daily effects of the little-known Raynaud's Disease.

The TV presenter, 43, shared a picture of her colourless fingers, the painful effects of the phenomenon which results in poor blood circulation brought on by a change in temperature.

After enjoying the warm sunshine earlier in the week, it was a different story for Jenni yesterday when the cold weather set in during a jog.

The Heart Radio host posted the snap of her hand adding that the cold and damp weather "literally chills my bones".

The mum-of-one, who has suffered with Raynauds since she was 17, explained to her followers on Instagram : "Yesterday it was perfect; a relatively warm, sunny day with little breeze.

"Today in comparison is so cold and damp that it literally chills my bones. If you suffer from Raynaud’s Phenomenon, then this sight will be something you might totally relate to."

Last year Jenni shocked her fans when she shared a picture of her blood-deprived index finger, a distinct contrast to the rest of her hand which looked normal.

Previously, Jenni has spoken about her battle with the phenomenon, telling the Mirror in 2014 : "I’ve suffered from it in my fingers and toes since I was 17, and it can be so painful that it brings tears to my eyes.

"Since then, the condition has worsened. I get it in all my fingers and toes and an attack can last up to 30 minutes.

"When life returns to the affected part of my body, it’s like being poked with cocktail sticks – a severe case of pins and needles. A burning sensation adds to the pain, too."
