Kyoto Aquarium in Shimogyo Ward, Kyoto, will unveil a new area called "Jellyfish Wonders" when it reopens on Thursday, featuring about 5,000 jellyfish of about 20 species, one of the largest numbers of jellyfish in western Japan.

The centerpiece of the 352-square-meter area is the Gururi tank, which offers a 360-degree panoramic view. Standing in the center of the doughnut-shaped tank, visitors will feel like they're floating in the water with about 1,500 jellyfish lit up in a variety of colors.

Only about 10 people will be allowed into Gururi at one time, to help prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus.
