Jeffrey Lurie release statement confirming Eagles have parted ways with Doug Pederson

The Philadelphia Eagles have made the firing of head coach Doug Pederson official after owner and chairman, Jeffrey Lurie released a statement on the matter.

The Eagles owner highlighted the need to further evaluate things, which is why Pederson and Howie Roseman completed their end of the year exit meeting together.

After reports of Lurie and Pederson disagreeing on potential staff changes, the Eagles moved on from their head coach on Monday after a meeting in Florida.

Pederson finished his Eagles career with a 46-39-1 record over five, including the Super Bowl in 2017.

Pederson became just the eighth head coach to win a Super Bowl in his first two years and he’ll now be one of the hottest names on the open market.
