Jeffrey Epstein Survivors Say They’re Compiling List Of Associates: ‘Names We All Know’

CONTENT WARNING: This article discusses sexual abuse and suicide.

Survivors of Jeffrey Epstein have come together to share details of the abuse they suffered from the disgraced financier and his partner, Ghislaine Maxwell, revealing that they are in the process of putting together a confidential list of associates who were allegedly involved in the abuse.

“We will confidentially compile the names we all know were regularly in the Epstein world,” survivor Lisa Phillips said, per the BBC.

“It will be done by survivors, and for survivors.”

The two-hour news conference on the steps of the US Congress was organised by survivors on Wednesday morning (local time), held in the hopes of encouraging lawmakers to release more files about the convicted sex offender. It featured nine female victims who spoke bravely about their experiences with Epstein, who died by suicide in prison in 2019.

One survivor, Marina Lacerda, worked for Epstein from the ages of 14 to 17. Speaking publicly for the first time, she claimed her employment ended when Epstein declared she was “too old”.

“I was one of dozens of girls that I personally know who were forced into Jeffrey’s mansion… in New York City when we were just kids,” she said.

“A friend of mine in the neighbourhood told me that I could make $300 to give another guy a massage. It went from a dream job to the worst nightmare.”

Lacerda said that there are unreleased documents she hasn’t read yet.

“The government is still in possession right now of the documents and the information that could help me remember and get over all of this, maybe, and help me heal,” she said.

“It is so hard to begin to heal, knowing that there are people out there who know more about my abuse than I do.”

Another survivor, Anouska De Georgiou, said she felt that it was important to speak up, especially for those “who could not continue”, such as Australian woman Virginia Guiffre, who took her own life in April this year.

“Every day of this journey towards healing has come at a profound cost to my mental health, but I am here, I chose to come, because this bill really matters,” she said.

“Consequences are not about punishment alone; they exist to deter future harm, to protect the vulnerable, and to set a standard of justice.”

What does Trump think?

As it stands, the leadership of the US House of Representatives is under pressure from the Democrats and some Republicans to vote on a bill that would see the remaining Epstein documents come to light. Currently, it is unknown whether there is enough support to see the bill come to a vote.

However, according to US President Donald Trump, the press conference held by Epstein survivors is a “Democrat hoax”.

“This is a Democrat hoax that never ends,” he told reporters from the Oval Office.

“From what I understand, thousands of pages of documents have been given, but it’s really a Democrat hoax because they’re trying to get people to talk about something that’s totally irrelevant to our success as a nation since I’ve been president.”

Trump and Epstein were long-time friends. However, Trump has claimed that they had a falling out in the 2000s.

On Tuesday, the House of Representatives committee released more than 33,000 pages of documents and at least eight videos related to Epstein’s public.
