Jeffrey Epstein, the billionaire financier accused of sex trafficking young girls, has killed himself in prison.
He had hanged himself and his body was found this morning.
Manhattan federal prosecutors last month had charged Epstein, 66, with sex trafficking of girls as young as 14. But details of his behaviour have been emerging for years.
Julia McFarlane, ABC foreign affairs reporter, tweeted: "Jeffrey Epstein committed suicide overnight at MCC Manhattan, the federal lockup where he had been held pending trial on federal sex trafficking charges, three law enforcement officials told ABC News."
