New Celtic signing Jeffrey Schlupp has revealed that he messaged Kasper Schmeichel before joining the club.
The 32-year-old completed a deadline-day switch to Glasgow's east end, joining the Scottish Premiership champions on loan from Crystal Palace.
Schlupp can play anywhere on the left-hand side, in central midfield, or even up top as a centre-forward.
When he initially heard that a move to Celtic could be on the cards, one of the first people Schlupp spoke to was goalkeeper Schmeichel.

The pair won the English Premier League together at Leicester City and are set to reunite at Parkhead: "Kasper was one of the first people I spoke to when this opportunity came up,” he said (RecordSport).
“He messaged me, and we spoke, and he told me about how great the club is, how much I’ll enjoy playing here, and I can’t wait to link up again.
"To be able to play together again after such a long time and the memories we’ve got together, it’s going to be a special thing that I’m definitely looking forward to."
Schlupp could make his Celtic debut in their game against Dundee in the Scottish Premiership tonight.
He is on the bench as Rodgers' men aim to move 13 points clear of city rivals Rangers at the top of the table with a win.
3-3 was the scoreline the last time the sides met, with Arne Engels rescuing a late point from the spot for his side at Dens Park.
