Jan. 29--Jeff Lewis, the interior designer and "Flipping Out" star, has sold his gated house in Hollywood Hills for $2.895 million.
Originally designed and built in 1937 by architect Wallace Neff, the extensively renovated house sits on a third-acre knoll with city views. Diagonal-paned windows retain the home's Tudor roots.
Lewis spent two years refurbishing the two-story house, combining original details with modern design and convenience. Hand-cut and laid marble flooring and wood-paneled walls and ceilings are among the details.
The 3,730 square feet of interior space includes living and family areas, a round dining room, a bar and an updated kitchen with a breakfast area.
The master suite features a retail-store-style walk-in closet, a stand-alone tub and a steam shower for two for a total of three bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms.
Red brick patio surrounds the swimming pool, spa and an outdoor kitchen and fire pit.
Lewis, who has starred on the reality show "Flipping Out" since 2007, bought the property four years ago for $1.625 million, public records show. He is creative director for Living Spaces.
Boni Bryant and Joe Reichling at Sotheby's International Realty and Caroline Berkman Lewis at Partners Trust were the listing agents in the off-market deal. Bryant and Reichling also represented the buyer.
