Jeff Heuerman well aware he’s last remaining member of Broncos’ 2015 draft class

The 2015 NFL draft class was one to forget for the Denver Broncos.

The team landed pass rusher Shane Ray, offensive lineman Ty Sambrailo, tight end Jeff Heuerman, offensive lineman Max Garcia, cornerback Lorenzo Doss, defensive lineman Darius Kilgo, quarterback Trevor Siemian, cornerback Taurean Nixon and safety Josh Furman.

Of those players, only Heuerman remains with the team.

“I’d be lying to say I didn’t already know that and didn’t think about that,” Heuerman said on May 14. “It is kind of crazy to think when we all got here four years ago. Yeah, a lot of them moved and stuff and I’m very fortunate to still be here and be a part of this organization.”

Heuerman hasn’t exactly been a huge success, either. He’s battled through injuries and hasn’t posted big numbers to this point in his career. Still, it’s an accomplishment just to still be with the team.

Heuerman, 26, hauled in 31 receptions for 281 yards and two touchdowns last year. He’ll look to improve on those numbers with new quarterback Joe Flacco throwing to him in 2019.
