Jeep concept helps you to get on your mountain bike

THIS is probably the dream machine for many Scottish mountain bikers – the Jeep Gladiator Top Dog Concept.

The American brand and its specialist Mopar parts division unveiled the fun vehicle at the virtual SEMA360 show in Las Vegas this week.

Unique features include drawers to securely store tools and supplies, a fridge and an electric hot-dog roller grill stand to help refuel riders.

A foldable ladder gives access to a dual bike rack and there are additional storage racks, traction mats for vehicle recovery and dual exterior task lights either side.

Tweaked suspension, special 17in wheels and tyres along with revised wheel arches increase ground clearance for outstanding off-road capability.

Power comes from a proven 3.6-litre V6 engine with 285hp, mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission.

There are also winches front and rear, reinforced bumper and side guards, additional LED lighting and an air snorkel to help cool the engine if off-road conditions compromise the normal inlets.

The interior has plenty of black leather and blue stitching and practical all-weather floor mats.

North American Mopar boss Mark Bosanac said: “Loaded with nearly 20 Jeep Performance Parts, we built this go-anywhere Jeep Gladiator Top Dog Concept for passionate mountain-bike enthusiasts.”
