Jedward to shave off trademark quiffs live on the Late Late Show for Irish Cancer Society

Jedward have announced that they will shave off their trademark quiffs live on the Late Late Show this Friday in aid of a very special cause.

The Lucan twins sadly lost their mum Susanna to the disease in 2019 and will donate funds raised by the sponsored head shave to the Irish Cancer Society.

In a message posted on Twitter this evening, they said: "We hope all the funds raised will contribute to a cancer-free future.

"This is such a good cause. We're sending so much strength and love to all those suffering with cancer."

Devoted mum Susanna - who also acted as the twins' manager - had been battling cancer for several years before finally succumbing to the disease in February 2019.

Shortly after she died, her sons - who shot to fame on the X Factor - paid an emotional tribute to their beloved mum who they said "shaped the character of who we are", and vowed that she would "live on" in their memories.

They wrote on Twitter: "Rest In Peace Mammy.

"You live on through us.

"We will miss you and your smile.

"You shaped the character of who we are.

"Mammy lived with cancer for many years but was always full of life!

"You live on in our Memories and will always be alive in our Hearts."

The Late Late Show will be broadcast on Friday at 9:30pm on RTE One.
