Jedward's heartwarming message of support to Britney Spears after conservatorship speech

Jedward expressed their delight that Britney Spears has spoken out and told how they have learned to avoid “dodgy” controlling people and contracts throughout their career.

The self-confessed mega fans of the pop legend, 39, said it’s crazy to think of how she has been treated like a “prisoner” after she condemned the conservatorship that controls her life.

In a plea to the court in Los Angeles, Spears asked a judge to end her conservatorship, saying the legal arrangement controlling her life is “abusive” and “doing me way more harm than good”.

Throwing their support behind her, the Dublin-born pop duo said: “We are number one fans of Britney and we think it is great she got to tell her side of the story.

“And the fact they gave her the space to express how she felt about the whole situation and how people were treating her behind the scenes, and how controlled her life has been, and people making out this and making out that.

“And the fact she got to have that moment with the judge to express all the hardship and the way people have been treating her.

“For such a powerful icon to be put in such a situation, basically like a prisoner, it’s crazy.”

The singing twins, who found fame on The X Factor over a decade ago, before going on to take part in various other shows such a Big Brother, and representing Ireland in the Eurovision twice have been open about their experiences in the music industry.

However, the 29-year-olds said they have always been careful to avoid finding themselves in any similar situations

John said: “It’s different, you always have people trying to control what you can and can’t do. And it is all these contracts you signed.

“Me and Edward always stayed out of all of those dodgy contracts.”

Edward added: “It’s like when you become famous, you get so much power and people like to control the narrative so it is great she is fighting for her freedom.”
