Jedward rebrand as 'Joasis' as they unveil Oasis-inspired makeover

In a move that is sure to leave Liam and Noel Gallagher seething, Jedward have revealed they’ve undergone an Oasis-inspired makover.

33-year-old Irish twins John and Edward Grimes - collectively known as Jedward - are known for their positive outlook, love of glitter and sequins, and can be usually seen sporting their trademark bleach blond quiffs.

The Gallagher brothers meanwhile are known for their fraught relationship and Mod-inspired wardrobes.

Jedward surprised fans on Tuesday when they took to Instagram to unveil their new look.

The clips starts with the camera focused on a photograph of Liam and Noel Gallagher, Jedward then launch into a rendition of one of Oasis’ biggest hits Wonderwall as they lower the picture, revealing they’ve been done up to look like the Gallaghers complete with darker hair.

“Joasis” they wrote in the accompanying caption.

“I just know Liam and Noel would hate this and I need to see the reaction,” wrote one person in the comments section.

“I know they’d hate this, which is why it’s so perfect,” agreed another.

This is not the first time that Jedward have shown their appreciation for Oasis.

After the Mancunian band announced last year that they were reforming for their first live shows in 15 years, Jedward did not attempt to hide their delight.

They reposted a video of John covering the band’s hit Wonderwall with American Pie actress Tara Reid in 2022.

In the clip, both singers donned metallic silver outfits as they harmonised on the famous chorus.

They captioned the post: “Celebrating the Oasis reunion.”

It remains to be seen whether the Lipstick singers will be turning up at one of Oasis’ sold out Wembley Stadium dates after swapping their home village of Rathangan, Co Kildare, for the capital last summer.

Settling on leafy Belsize Park in North West London, the former X Factor finalists told The Standard of their new life: “We’ve never been based in London, we only moved here last June but we’ve already been enriched in life, like seeing all of the different areas and meeting all of the creative people.

“We’re always bumping into Ricky Gervais around here and you went jogging with Harry Styles once with his dog, didn’t you, John.”
