Jedward 'outraged' after they claim record company remove 'iconic' debut single from streaming platforms

Jedward have demanded an explanation from a record company after they claimed it removed their "iconic" debut single from all streaming platforms.

The Lucan duo's 'Under Pressure (Ice Ice Baby) shot to the top of the Irish charts and peaked at Number 2 in the UK when it was released in 2010.

The song, a mash-up of Queen's 'Under Pressure and Vanilla Ice's 'Ice Ice Baby', even gained the enthusiastic approval of the US rapper.

But the twins took to social media last night "demanding" answers from Simon Cowell and Sony Music UK after they claimed the song had been removed and the music video deleted.

They said: "Yo @SimonCowell and @SonyMusicUK Why have you removed our Iconic 1st single Under Pressure Ice Ice baby from all streaming Platforms and deleted the official music video? that’s our legacy! we’re outraged it’s part of Pop culture! We demand a response!"

The band's fans were quick to voice their own disgust that the song has been removed.

One wrote: "Ah here, they can't do this that song is iconic and was a big part of my childhood, (can't believe I was only 8 or 9 when that came out feeling old now)."

Another added: "The memories for me. It all began in 2010 when I saw Jedward on stage and performing Ice Ice Baby x pleased return the video back . Thanks."

Cowell or Sony Music are yet to respond to the message but the song appears to have been removed from Spotify and other streaming platforms.

Dublin Live has contacted Sony Music UK for comment.
