JEDWARD expressed their delight that Britney Spears has spoken out and told how they have learned to avoid “dodgy” controlling people and contracts throughout their career.
The self-confessed mega fans of the pop legend, 39, said it’s crazy to think of how she has been treated like a “prisoner” after she condemned the conservatorship that controls her life.
In a plea to the court in Los Angeles on June 23, Spears asked a judge to end her conservatorship, saying the court-ordered legal arrangement controlling her life is “abusive” and “doing me way more harm than good”.
Throwing their support behind her, the Dublin born pop duo said:
“We are number one fans of Britney and we think it is great that she got to tell her side of the story.

“Because for a while she wasn’t able to speak openly.
“And the fact they gave her the space to express how she felt about the whole situation and how people were treating her behind the scenes, and how controlled her life has been, and people making out this and making out that.
“And the fact she got to have that moment with the judge to express all the hardship and the way people have been treating her.
“And for such a powerful icon to be put in such a situation, basically like a prisoner, it’s crazy.
“But it is great that it is all coming to light. It is what needed to happen and I think we are all going to see a different side of Britney in the future.”
The singing twins, who found fame on the X Factor over a decade ago, before going on to take part in various other shows such a Big Brother, and representing Ireland in the Eurovision twice have been open about their experiences in the music industry.
However, the 29-year-old’s said they have always been careful to avoid finding themselves in any similar situations during their rise to fame.
Speaking to Dermot and Dave on Today FM yesterday[Tue], John said: “It’s different, you always have people trying to control what you can and can’t do.
“And it is all these contracts you sign to become famous and me and Edward always stayed out of all of those dodgy contracts.
“So we were always able to do our thing.
“And the fact we did Big Brother twice, and you have to have your morals right.
Edward added: “It’s kind of like when you become famous, you get so much power and people like to control the narrative and what you are doing so it is great that she is fighting for her freedom.
John added: “The fact she was being told she couldn’t get married again or have a kid.. Nah.”
It comes as Jamie Lynn Spears finally broke her silence on the matter and said she is “so proud” of sister Britney for publicly condemning the conservatorship.
The actress and singer, 30, broke her silence in a video shared on social media, telling her Instagram followers she had not spoken sooner because she was waiting for Britney to do so.
The star of Nickelodeon series Zoey 101 said she has “only loved, adored and supported” her older sister but had done so privately, not publicly.
She said: “I don’t care if she wants to run away to a rainforest and have a zillion babies in the middle of nowhere, or if she wants to come back and dominate the world the way she has done so many times before, because I have nothing to gain or lose either way.”
