Jeanfield Swifts breezed to another Premier Division victory on Wednesday night.
And it ensured that the feel-good factor at the club continued following the weekend’s success against Camelon.
Swifts are picking up a nice bit of form ahead of their huge Scottish Cup second round tie with Annan Athletic later this month.
Ross Gunnion’s men pinged the ball around reasonably well in the opening half hour but there was nothing to show for it.
But not long after midfielder Paul Simpson’s determination saw him beat the visiting goalkeeper to the ball before finishing.
That was how the score stood at the break but it didn’t take long for Swifts to double their advantage after the restart.
Striker Chris McLeish was wheeling away in celebration following a well-placed header from deep inside the box.
Soon it was three, this time Jake Dolzanski - the central defender is in a rich vein of scoring form - found space to divert a powerful drive from 10 yards into the back of the net.
Dolzanski, who was captain for the night, was on the scoresheet again with little under 20 minutes remaining. He was beaming from ear-to-ear after nodding home at the back post. It was, impressively, his fourth goal in two games.
Crossgates did attempt to retaliate and smashed the post with a well-struck effort from the edge of the box. But, by this point, Swifts were out of sight.
Mark Smith could have made it five in the closing minutes when he found himself one-on-one with the goalkeeper. His effort slipped the wrong side of the post.
