Jeando Fuchs closing in on Dundee United move as Micky Mellon set to complete stunning swoop

Dundee United are closing on a stunning move for Cameroon international Jeando Fuchs.

The Tannadice side are set to agree a deal with La Liga outfit Alaves for their promising defensive midfielder.

United hope to tie up the deal this week for the highly-rated 22-year-old that will see him move to Tannadice on a permanent basis.

Fuchs had represented France up to under-20 level and played in the same team at Kylian Mbappe before he decided to opt for his place on birth at full level.

The African has two caps and made his debut against Brazil back in 2018.

Fuchs moved to Alaves last year and was sent out on loan to Israeli side Maccabi Haifa before COVID-19 prematurely ended last season.

The Cameroon star returned to Alaves and has hasn’t started the season and decided he wants to move to get regular first-team football.

He had made more than 100 appearances for French side Sochaux before he moved to Spain and is keen to cement his place in the Cameroon national team.

Dundee United sporting director Tony Asghar has close links with Alaves and has pushed ahead after boss Micky Mellon gave the move his seal of approval.

United fans will need to wait to see Fuchs in action as he will have to quarantine for two weeks before he can start to train with his new team mate.

United are still in the market for a winger and a striker before the close of the window.
