Jean-Philippe Gbamin opts for Paris training base ahead of Everton comeback

The latest stage of Jean-Philippe Gbamin's rehabilitation has been taking place in a suburb of Paris.

Everton say Gbamin, who is recovering from a major Achilles injury, is scheduled to return to playing at some point between November and December.

Blues boss Carlo Ancelotti is hoping the 25-year-old will be fit enough to return to training at Finch Farm soon - with the most recent update saying a time between late October and early November was being targeted.

But until Gbamin is passed fit enough to rejoin his team-mates, then he will continue his comeback in France working with a coaching and fitness company called Odysium.

As revealed by the ECHO, in the wake of his Achilles injury in May and ahead of the Premier League re-start, a return to France to undertake the first stage of his rehab, following surgery, was being discussed.

And since the beginning of the month, Gbamin has been working with Odysium as he looks to rebuild his fitness in order for him to start training with Everton again and was seen on his Instagram story carrying out fitness drills and ball work.

The £25m signing from Mainz has played only 135 minutes for Everton since joining in the summer of 2019.

A thigh injury required two lots of surgery and just as Gbamin was eyeing a return to action, during the re-start, he suffered the Achilles problem which has kept him sidelined since.
