Jean-Kevin Augustin brings Premier League quality to Elland Road as Man City's Benjamin Mendy takes in epic Millwall win

New Leeds United signing Jean-Kévin Augustin brought a little bit of the Premier League back to Elland Road when Manchester City’s Benjamin Mendy took in the 3-2 win over Millwall.

The Whites overturned a 2-0 deficit and some questionable officiating to bag a 3-2 win - with the natives absolutely loving it.

The home match under the lights was Augustin’s first since signing from RB Leipzig.

To mark the occasion, the Frenchmen received some support from his fellow countryman Mendy, 25, who popped across the Pennines to see his pal.

Mendy, who isn’t backwards about coming forwards on social media, posted on Twitter about his visit to Elland Road and taking in the emphatic comeback win for the Whites.

Here’s what City defender Mendy posted:

In his post, Augustin describes Mendy as 'a new Leeds fan'.

Mendy, of course, also played under Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa when the pair were at Marseille.

And, in the past, he’s been very vocal in his praise for the Argentine.

We also think Mendy might have given Augustin, 22, some social media tips during his visit to Elland Road as the new signing posted an hilarious dig at Millwall’s time wasting on his Twitter account.

Last night’s win fired Leeds United to the top of the Championship table.

Hopefully, next season we’ll see Mendy, his Manchester City teammates and all the other Premier League big dogs back at Elland Road.
