Jeamie TKV has been forced to pull out of his British heavyweight title fight against Frazer Clarke with an injury.
The pair were due to face off on October 25 on a big night of boxing to start Boxxer's new deal with the BBC.
The title bout was set to be shown on BBC Two and would naturally have drawn a significant audience. A relatively early start time of around 9pm was expected, so as not to clash with Fabio Wardley's showdown with Joseph Parker later that night at the O2 Arena.
However, those plans have been derailed. Standard Sport understands that TKV picked up an injury in training and and is definitely out of the fight, with Boxxer now facing a decision on what to do with the show.
There are efforts to try and find a suitable opponent for Clarke to ensure the card can continue and the deal with the BBC gets up and running as planned.
However, if one cannot be found, the event will be postponed and rearranged for a later date.
Reports suggest that November 29 has been lined up as a potential option but that is yet to be confirmed.
Clarke had been set for a third attempt at claiming the British heavyweight title, having been unable to do so in two bouts with Fabio Wardley.
The 34-year-old suffered a brutal first-round knockout in the second of those fights but returned in April to stop Ebenezer Tetteh inside the opening three minutes.
TKV, meanwhile, suffered a controversial defeat to David Adeleye in April, when he was dropped after the referee had called "break" from a clinch.
He rose to his feet but was unable to recover and ultimately was stopped by Adeleye in the sixth round.
