A jealous boyfriend who stabbed his girlfriend of three years to death in a 'frenzied and savage' attack has been sentenced to life in prison.
Joe Atkinson, 25, has been jailed for life with a minimum of 15 years in prison for the brutal murder of Poppy Devey Waterhouse at their shared flat in Richmond Hill, Leeds, in December last year.
Atkinson initially denied murder but changed his plea at a hearing last week.
Miss Devey Waterhouse. 24, was an analyst working for William Hill in Leeds city centre.
Today the court heard statements from her heartbroken family, who described the horror of her death and how much they miss their 'beautiful, brilliant daughter'.
