JBW diamond watch snatched from elderly woman in Finsbury Park

A pensioner was left shaken after she was threatened and robbed of her cherished gold watch in broad daylight.

The 73-year-old was out for a stroll in Finsbury Park, north London, when a man grabbed her arm and snatched the diamond-encrusted JBW from her wrist.

He fled with the watch in hand, leaving the woman trembling but physically unharmed.

Police were called to the park between 5.15pm and 5.40pm on July 13 at the main entrance on the south side of the park near Seven Sisters Road.

The watch belonged to the woman’s late husband and is worth around £350.

The suspect was described as a black man, around 5ft11, of slim athletic build, wearing a light coloured T-shirt.

PC Carol Charles, from the Met’s north area basic command unit, said: “The watch was of high sentimental value to the owner.

“I would urge anyone who may have witnessed the incident or have seen any reference to the watch being for sale to please get in touch.”

Last month, a woman in her 20s was attacked as she walked through Finsbury Park.

The victim made an allegation of rape after she was set upon at around 1.30am.
