The 15th Hua Hin International Jazz Festival 2019 returns on Friday and Saturday to the long sandy beach of Hua Hin.
The annual fest, organised by the Hua Hin Municipality and the Tourism Authority of Thailand, will feature two stages: the Art Stage and the Beach Stage. The Art Stage will be on Dam Noen Kasem Road (or Soi Hua Hin 61), and feature around 10 local bands to entertain revellers each night.
The festival highlights, however, can be found on the Beach Stage, on the beach in front of Centara Grand Beach Resort & Villas Hua Hin.
Starting on Friday at 5:30pm, six-time Grammy Award-winner Mitch Frohman from the US will perform sax and flute with the Del Ritmo band. This will be followed by the opening ceremony, which is due to start after sunset.
At 7pm, New York Round Midnight will play a 50-minute set, bringing the sounds and moods of Broadway to the Hua Hin beachfront. Dutch singer Izaline Calister will perform with the band.
Later on, The Waltz and Frank Herrgott will play alongside American jazz and soul singer Coco Rouzier and Rubem Farias, one of Brazil's top bassists.
An ensemble of celebrated Thai artists -- Pom Autobahn, Patchara Dila, Wiyada Makarakul, Patchara Dela, The Glass Chiraphan Angsawanon -- will bring some local flavour before ETC. featuring Denzo Hines complete Friday's bill.
Saturday's festivities will run from 5.30pm until midnight. Highlights include Woody Black 4 from Austria, Bintang Asia from Japan and the Beets Brothers from the Netherlands.
At around 9pm, the King of Samba from Brazil will perform with compatriots Filo Machado and Rubem Farias.
Finally, fans of reggae should make sure not to miss the last show, as the veteran Thai band T-bone will perform their repertoire of reggae and ska classics.
Entrance to the Hua Hin International Jazz Festival is free.
