World no. 74 Jazz Janewattananond takes a one-shot lead into today's final round of the two-million baht Singha Chiang Mai Open.
Looking for his fourth win on the All Thailand Golf Tour, Jazz made a final-hole bogey en route to a third round 68 but managed to lead by one shot on 14-under-par 199 at the par-71 Mae Jo Golf Resort & Spa in Chiang Mai yesterday.
Kwanchai Tannin, who joined Jazz at the top of the leaderboard after the second round, had three bogeys in the last four holes for a 69. He is on 13-under 200.
Jazz, who is the highest-ranked player in the field, had four birdies and one bogey.
"I am happy with my round because the conditions were much tougher. It was windy and I wasn't hitting my driver well," said the golfer, whose last ATGT win came at the Singha Classic in 2017.
"My putter did not work well. I am not sure whether I will use it tomorrow.
"It was really fun to play with all the Thais in the group."
First-round leader Raththee Sirithanakunsak carded a 68 for a 12-under while Settee Prakongvech stayed two shots behind after a sizzling 66.
Suradit Yongcharoenchai (69) stood fifth on eight-under, one shot ahead of Namchok Tantipokhakul (70), who won in the Philippines last week, and Nattawat Suvajanakorn (70).
The 2013 winner Chapchai Nirat (70), Pattaya Supupramai (69) and Poom Pattaropong (74) were on five-under, nine shots behind the leader. Tawan Phongphun, who won the Thai PGA Tour title a few weeks ago, double-bogeyed the final hole for a 69. He was tied for 23rd on 212.
Udorn Duangdech suffered a late triple bogey for a 76 and even-par 213 in total.
The final round will be live on TrueSport 5 at 1pm.
