Jayson Tatum named Eastern Conference Player of the Week for April 5-11

On Monday, the NBA announced that Boston Celtics All-Star Jayson Tatum was named Eastern Conference Player of the Week for games played between April 5-11. Los Angeles Clippers forward Paul George was named for the Western Conference.

Through Boston’s four games last week, in which the Celtics won three of the four, the former Duke Blue Devil averaged 31.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 3.8 assists on 48.8% shooting from the field and 38.9% from downtown. Tatum scored a career-high 53 points on 16-of-25 shooting in Friday’s 145-136 victory against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

This marks the second time this season that Tatum has been named Player of the Week in the Eastern Conference, winning the first during the week of Jan. 4-10. Tatum won Player of the Week honors once last season in first week of February.

In 48 games this season, Tatum is averaging 25.7 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 4.2 assists.
