Jayson Tatum named as Eastern Conference player of the month

Jayson Tatum has been named the Kia Eastern Conference player of the month for October and November. The St. Louis native has been providing the Boston Celtics with some exceptional performances, most notably on the offensive end, where his new shot profile has unlocked his scoring ability.

Tatum is doing more of his work in the mid-post, allowing him to get deeper into his offensive repertoire while scanning the floor for shooters and cutters. Nikola Jokic has been named as the Western Conference player of the month, after leading the NBA in total points, assists, and rebounds.

In his 19 games of the season so far, Tatum is averaging 27.4 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 4.1 assists, shooting 49.9% from the field and 36.2% from 3-point range.

Boston is currently joint first in the NBA with a 15-4 record and occupies the first seed in the East with a 1.5-game advantage over the second-placed Orlando Magic.

Tatum and the Celtics will be back in action on Monday (Dec. 4) when they face the Indiana Pacers in an in-season tournament quarter-finals matchup.
