Jayson Tatum, Celtics can’t overcome Tyler Herro in loss to Heat

The Boston Celtics had a chance on Wednesday night to work their way back to a 2-2 tie after initially trailing the series 2-0. They were in a good spot in Game 4 as they battled their way back from a double-digit deficit to take the lead, but they could not overcome a Miami Heat rookie.

Tyler Herro was in a different zone on Wednesday as he scored a Heat franchise playoff rookie record 35 points surpassing Dwyane Wade’s 27 in 2004 as Miami went on to win 112-109 over the Celtics. Goran Dragic, Jimmy Butler, and Bam Adebayo all scored more than 20 points for the Heat as well.

Jayson Tatum had a helluva night for Boston after going scoreless in the first half, he had a huge second half scoring 28 points with nine rebounds as he threw the Celtics on his back. He did all that he could, but Herro was just too much for Boston to handle on this night.

Jaylen Brown added 21 points and nine rebounds, Kemba Walker had 20 points, Gordon Hayward added 14, and Marcus Smart had 10 points and 11 assists. The Celtics are now facing elimination as the series moves on to Game 6. A 3-1 comeback has happened twice so far in these playoffs, both by the Denver Nuggets.
