Jayson Tatum calls out haters who criticize LeBron James’ AAU support

Jayson Tatum joined a chorus of voices coming to support LeBron James after some critics stated that he was taking away from the spotlight of young AAU players this past weekend in Las Vegas with his enthusiastic, truly on-brand celebrations.

Some critics in sports media have said they believe LeBron was drawing attention away from the athletes on the court even though some of those athletes have lauded his support. But a big name in the NBA decided it was time to support James. Boston’s Jayson Tatum called out the media for moving the goalposts on black men and the role of fatherhood. LeBron himself never knew his father and relied coached as father figures in his life, which likely leads to his enthusiasm.

Tatum is not alone and is far from the first to point out the double-standards that are being exacted on LeBron. Even though Tatum has been a rival of LeBron on the court, the admiration clearly extends beyond the confines of 94 feet.
