Jayme Closs found alive, Wis. sheriff says

MINNEAPOLIS _ Jayme Closs, the 13-year-old girl missing since Oct. 15, when her parents were found shot to death in their home in Barron County, Wis., has been found alive, authorities said Thursday night.

"On Thursday evening the Barron County Sheriff's Department was notified by the Douglas County (Wis.) Sheriff's Department that they had located Jayme Closs alive," Barron County Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald said in a news release.

A suspect has been taken into custody, he said. "We do not have any other details at this time as this is a very fluid and active investigation," he said.

Earlier Thursday evening, Fitzgerald knocked down a rumor spreading on social media that Jayme had been found in Walworth County, in southeastern Wisconsin.
