Jaylen Waddle prefers Mac Jones over Tua Tagovailoa, too

Earlier in the predraft process, a report from MMQB’s Albert Breer made waves, stating that Alabama wide receiver DeVonta Smith told an NFL team at the Senior Bowl that he would take Mac Jones over Tua Tagovailoa at quarterback.

Turns out, he’s not alone.

Fellow Crimson Tide pass-catcher Jaylen Waddle was posed the same question, this time on national television by NFL Network’s Andrew Siciliano, and he made the same choice.

Smith and Waddle spent time catching passes from both quarterbacks at Alabama, so their opinion should certainly carry some weight.

Tagovailoa was the No. 5 overall pick in last year’s draft, even after suffering a season-ending hip injury the previous year. Jones has been projected by most as a mid-to-late first-round pick, but his stock has been rising since his strong week of practice at the Senior Bowl.
