Jaylen Brown officially out Monday against Heat due to back spasms

When the Boston Celtics welcome the Miami Heat into the TD Garden on Monday night, they’ll be without the services of shooting guard Jaylen Brown.

After being listed as questionable earlier today, Brown is officially out for Monday’s matchup due to back spasms, according to Celtics head coach Brad Stevens.

Brown is averaging 13.0 points and 4.3 rebounds per game in his third NBA season, overcoming a rough start to become a key bench player. Without Brown, the Celtics will need others to step up after a tough 14 point loss to the Nets in Brooklyn on Saturday.

The Celtics are also in a tight race with the Indiana Pacers for home court advantage in the Eastern Conference. They’re currently tied for the four seed in the East, but they hold the tiebreaker.

Tip-off in Boston is at 7:30 P.M. EST as Heat legend Dwyane Wade will play his final game in Boston.
