“My job is to come out and play basketball and inspire guys to play hard, and I haven’t done a good job of that,” offered All-Star forward Jaylen Brown after Friday Night’s loss to the Sacramento Kings.
Brown has found himself on a team where only he, fellow All-Star wing Jayson Tatum and reserve big man Robert Williams III seem to be consistent contributors night-to-night, with veteran point guard Kemba Walker forced to sit on the second half of back-to-backs and even the Jays thrown by lingering health issues. And while it needs to be noted that more than a third of the league is dealing with similar mediocrity in long stretches on teams anticipated to be good, it’s little comfort to the frustration it has generated in these players.
Brown in particular.
