Jayde Adams tipped for Strictly exit as bookmakers give latest prediction

Bristol's Jayde Adams is currently tipped to be the next to be voted off of BBC's Strictly Come Dancing, according to a leading bookmakers. The comedian, partnered with Karen Hauer, is tied with James Bye as the bookies' favourite to be the next pairing eliminated.

The 37-year-old from Bedminster has wowed fans on the dance floor so far, scoring a decent 31 in her American Smooth alongside dance partner Karen over the weekend. However, Bet Victor has given her odds of 9/4 to be eliminated next and 80/1 to be crowned champion, which is the second worst ahead of James, who is at 100/1.

The betting firm has Hamza Yassin as the favourite to win at 9/4, ahead of Will Mellor on 10/3 and Tyler West on 7/2. Helen Skelton has the best odds among the female celebrities with odds of 4/1.

Bet Victor's Sam Boswell said: "Will Mellor (10/3) has dominated the odds as favourite but now Hamza Yassin overtakes him as the new favourite to win Strictly, at one point on Saturday night Hamza drifted as high as 12/1, and now his odds have been slashed to 9/4 to take home the glitterball trophy.

"Hamza’s Samba performance saw him sitting pretty at the top of the leaderboard, scoring a total of 39 – just one point off a perfect score and the highest score of the competition so far. It's a marked improvement on his week three dance, which saw him in 10th place with 25 points.

"The market predicted right last week as Matt Goss was eliminated, after a shock dance-off with Kym Marsh who is now 8/1 to be next eliminated. Now James Bye and Jayde Adams are joint favourites to be next eliminated at 9/4, with Ellie Taylor behind them at 4/1."

Jayde has been praised as an ‘explosive presence’ on the show, and has proven popular with fans of the ballroom show. The comedian dazzled audiences on Saturday (October 15) with a gorgeous American Smooth to Bette Middler’s ‘Wind Beneath My Wings’ in a heartbreaking tribute to her sister, Jenna, who died 11 years ago.

In the VT before Saturday’s performance, Jayde explained the singer had been her and her sister's "most favourite musician" and she recalled having CDs all over the house, and the dances the pairs would make up to her songs. She then explained her sister had died 11 years before, saying: "I didn't just lose a sister, I lost a best friend, I lost a dance partner. Her telling me to make everyone laugh was my calling."

The all-female pairing moved the judges panel, with head judge Shirley Ballas, thanking Jayde for a song which "meant so much to anyone who's lost someone". Fellow judge Anton Du Beke said the performance became a "moment".
