Jayde Adams' new show set in south Bristol to host preview screening ahead of air date

Bristolians are being given the chance to watch Jayde Adams' new series - set in Bristol - before it's aired. Ruby Speaking is coming to Bristol's Watershed cinema this month, and tickets are on sale now for the screening.

The new ITVX show is also led by Bristolians, starring Bedminster's Jayde Adams in the titular role alongside Joe Sims who plays Tom. Jayde also put a call out for young Bristol actors to join the cast, with Daniel Hiscox and Kiera Lester selected.

Ruby Speaking follows newly-single Ruby (Adams) who is a member of the customer service team at the Bristol call centre of Hellocom. The life and soul of her workplace, Ruby struggles to read from the prepared script that work and life have foisted upon her, choosing instead to walk her own chaotic path.

The Royal Television Society is screening the first two episodes of the new ITVX comedy series back-to-back. The series as a whole is six 30-minute episodes and was largely filmed in locations around south Bristol and with The Bottle Yard Studios.

From Yellow Door Productions, it is written by Abigail Wilson and is executive produced by Lucy Lumsden. The series is directed by Rosie Gaunt-Mathieson and produced by Jon Macqueen. It will air later this year on ITVX and ITV2.

The screening will be hosted in Screen 1 of Watershed Cinema on May 19, with doors at 6.15pm to commence at 6.30pm. Tickets are £10 per person and include a drink, available to purchase through Royal Television Society.
