Jay Gruden wants to see more from Josh Norman next season

Washington Redskins head coach Jay Gruden made it clear during interviews at the owner’s meetings that he’s in win-now mode.

The arrival of Landon Collins signaled this, of course. But Gruden also made it a point to stress this includes getting more from someone like Josh Norman.

“But as far as his play for the whole season is concerned, it’s a solid starting cornerback play,” Gruden said, according to JP Finlay of NBC Sports Washington. “Now we’re looking for more from Josh and he’s going to give us more because we’re going to demand more. We’re looking for superstar status from Josh.”

Norman was signed to be a superstar corner but ended up having as many problems as anyone last year, including getting benched coming out of a second half.

Already speculated as a possible cut or trade candidate simply based on salary and Washington’s other big spending, Norman might not have long to prove himself.
