Jay Gruden wants Reuben Foster saga to end

Washington Redskins head coach Jay Gruden is ready to find out if linebacker Reuben Foster will face punishment or not.

A report from the league meetings confirmed there is still no timeline on a decision. Gruden, speaking at those same meetings, talked about how it can impact the team’s approach to free agency and the draft.

“I mean would like to have them before free agency, but that’s already come and gone, Gruden said, according to Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk. “We’d love to have it before the draft. It’s kind of important to know if a [24]-year-old linebacker will be on your team or not. It’s kind of important. But we also know there was some risk involved, and we have to let the commissioner do his thing and take some time.”

The Redskins anticipate Foster will be on the field at some point next year. But the “when” factor could impact what the team decides to do in the draft.

Unfortunately, Gruden might have to keep waiting. When last asked about the subject,  NFL commissioner Roger Goodell didn’t have much to say.
